The Eurocultured project is produced and managed at all levels by events organisation Spearfish.
The concept of Eurocultured was born out of the enlargement of the European Union in May 2004 as 10 new member states joined the Union.
We thought it would be a great idea to have a festival that celebrated this notable development, with support from Manchester City Council and Arts Council England, the inaugural Eurocultured Street Festival Manchester was born.
Since 2004 a further five festivals have taken place in Manchester aswell as sister events in Dublin, Belfast, Bratislava and Wroclaw. Over 100,000 people have attended these events that have showcased over 1000 artists from 17 European countries. The main aims are to celebrate the diversity of European culture in City centre locations and to showcase the best live art, dance, performance and music that our continent has to offer. We place big names alongside the next big thing and programme traditional culture alongside contemporary and cutting edge works.
The Eurocultured project actively commissions the creation of brand new work, we place artists from different creative disciplines together so that they can create brand new large scale, multi disciplinary work that can be exclusivley premiered to audiences at Eurocultured events.
